BWRT®Online
What is BWRT®?
BrainWorking Recursive Therapy® (BWRT®) is a structured therapeutic approach that helps people change unwanted emotional and behavioural responses.
At TherapyShift, BWRT® is offered online to adults across Alberta by Jenni van der Westhuizen, Registered Psychologist.
How Does BWRT® Work?
When a situation triggers anxiety, fear or avoidance, the brain can react before you have time to think about what is happening. These automatic patterns may continue even when you understand that the response is no longer helpful.
BWRT® uses a structured, guided process to help change the brain’s automatic response. You remain aware and in control throughout the process. It may not be necessary to recount every detail of a difficult experience.

Professional, compassionate support tailored to your needs
BWRT® stands for BrainWorking Recursive Technique®, a method of working with personal issues created by UK professional therapist Terence Watts, MCGI. It’s a confidential approach that does not require you to reveal private information or personal secrets, and it is carried out in a fully conscious state.
BWRT® does not use hypnosis and does not involve anything mystical or unscientific - it’s completely logical, practical, and down-to-earth. To succeed, the only requirement is that you know what you want to change in your life. Only Certified Practitioners are trained to deliver BWRT®, and all must adhere to a strict ethical code.
At TherapyShift, we help clients move past stuck patterns and create lasting shifts in their lives.
